Ventisquero Pinot Noir Reserva
In-Store Special
According to literature, "Ventisquero" is Spanish for glacier, and the winery takes its name from the hanging glaciers in the nearby Andes Mountains that help to moderate temperature. Viña Ventisquero has formed a team that includes top level professionals, such as Felipe Tosso Winemaker, who make Ventisquero a modern Chilean winery that works and produces in balance with the environment. One of the modern techniques is using aerial infrared images of the vineyards to micromanage harvesting of their vineyards to the smallest parcel to get uniformly ripe grapes. By harvesting grapes within the same lot at different times they can make a difference by having a consistent quality. Once again Majestic has found another group of wines that give you the best “bang for the buck” without sacrificing quality. The Casablanca Valley is the source for these Pinot Noir grapes. The valley’s cold micro-climate, which is created because of the close proximity and influence of the ocean, makes it perfect for growing Pinot Noir. Elegant and deep ruby red in color, this wine has a very delicate aroma of soft mixed fruit. On the palate is rich cherry, strawberry, coffee, and vanilla taste balanced by good body and very soft tannins. Food pairs? Well, this wine will go with just about anything. Try it with fish, red meats, chicken, or cheeses.
